I love a good dark tan suit, so I’m not ashamed to wear one for my best friend. My favorite shade is tan (not olive), so I always go for one that looks like a more “tanned” tan (not a nice black tan, which is what I always envision). The one I’m wearing today is a dark brown, but it’s actually a light tan–it’s a nice, medium tan.
I just got my first pair of tan jeans from Urban Outfitters. I have been a bit confused as to why I like them so much, but I’m glad I finally got them. It is a light tan, but its not really a tan. The description says this is a “dark brown” fabric, but the actual fabric is a much lighter tan. Because tan is a popular color in the US, Urban Outfitters often sells it in a light tan, white, or even medium tan. It’s the light tan that we like.
But since most of us are in the US, or at least in the Northeast, we will always have access to the darker tan. There are some very light tan fabrics that are available in the US also, but its not the same.
I’m pretty sure most of us would be able to tell when we’ve been in a tanning bed, but the tanning bed is a whole different animal. In a tanning bed, the tanning process is just meant to give you the “look” of a tan. It isn’t a tan, it’s actually just a way to have the lightest possible skin tone. There is no tan. There is no tanning, just tanning.
This is not a “dark tan,” it’s a completely different type of tan. The reason the tanning bed is so much more varied than the tanning bed is because it is still made of fine tan fabrics. Blacker cotton, for example, is often made from a lighter color of cotton, but black and tan are never the same. Also, because of the color difference in colors, it is hard to see the different shades of cotton used in the tanning bed.
