The live telecast of the England vs Sri Lanka match was interesting, from a cricket fanatic’s perspective. Even though England were down by four runs, everyone in the stadium knew that this would be the Sri Lankan win, and that it would be decided by the final two innings, and that’s what they got.
As a fan, you definitely have to be cheering for England just for the sake of it. Even though Sri Lanka is a far better team, they played great baseball, and were able to get out of the inning with confidence and momentum. At the same time though, England is a much better team, and I am glad that we were able to see them win.
As you can see above, England did a great job of keeping their bats cool despite the heat, while Sri Lanka did a horrible job of keeping their bats cool, but they still got out of the inning. As a fan, you have to be cheering for England just for the sake of it. Even though Sri Lanka is a better team, they played great baseball, and were able to get out of the inning with confidence and momentum.
I really hope that we’re able to see England play in a World Cup. For one, it’s a possibility. And also, the England players are the best in the world, so even if they don’t make it to the World Cup, they would still be considered “the best” for a reason.
