In our culture there is nothing good about photography; it is pretty silly. Here, I am going to focus on five things that are obvious to people looking at a camera or a video camera.
One, the lens. People often make the mistake of thinking the camera is the lens. If a camera were the lens, we would have all moved to China by now.
The camera. The camera is a very powerful tool. The camera that you’re using is what’s necessary to be able to use it. If you want to take a picture, you want to use a camera and the camera is your lens. If you want to take a picture, you have a camera and you have a lens. So the camera is your lens. The camera is what’s not necessary, though you need to know how to use it.
Well it’s not really the camera, it’s the lens. Which is why photography is so much more than a simple way to record images. It’s a way of capturing an image in the quickest and most accurate way possible. It’s a way of capturing an image that can then be used to make something else out of it.
Photography is what you do with your camera. You use it to take a photo. You use it to make a photo. You use it to manipulate a photo, or to make a photo that you then want to use to manipulate something else. A photo is a photo. You are a photographer.
In modern society, we often talk about “the photo” as a singular thing. It is a single photograph that can be used to create something else. When we talk more about the photo, we often talk about it as a single object. It has a shape, and a color, and a texture. It is a single thing. And it is a singular thing. But it is also a singular, fleeting thing.
