I was born in Maine in 1969 and grew up principally in Southern New Hampshire. I began skiing at 2 years old at Crotched Mountain in Francestown NH. My father was a ski patroller there till the mountain closed in the 80’s. After 14 years the corporate closed the branch workplace I had worked to develop for years, and asked me to maneuver to Buffalo New York.
Born and raised within the Sierra Nevada’s on the North and West Shores of Lake Tahoe California. As a younger boy I used to ski race in the Buddy Werner Association and transitioned to snowboarding in my elementary years. Throughout highschool and school snowboarding got positioned on the back burner to release time to pursue my passion for music and playing trumpet. After Graduating from the University of California at Santa Cruz I moved again to Tahoe for a quick time after which found my method to Southern Oregon where I quickly fell in love with the Rogue Valley. It was here at Mt. Ashland that snowboarding grew to become a part of my life once extra, and it didn’t take long for me to comprehend how much I enjoyed the sport and winter recreation. I first began working at Mt. Ashland as an evening lifty on Windsor and bumped chairs on Ariel to help out with the weekend crowds.
For this trip we were content to spend the day taking laps close to Paradise and see what protection we could find. The snowpack itself was certainly low, with lots of brush, creeks and rocks making journey typically troublesome. Views had been stellar as always—maybe for this reason I keep coming back to Rainier’s south side! Bright sun, clear skies and a south-facing facet for a lot of the terrain meant that the fresh snow received saturated and heavy fairly rapidly. We enjoyed a quantity of runs, some wallowing and a short creek portage earlier than gate closure pressured us back towards our automobile.
I attended Rutgers and Fairleigh Dickenson Universities. While on the east coast I began my patrolling career and elevated my involvement with white water boating.
