I am pretty sure the police dont actually have to do anything. They cant arrest you. But if they have to do somethings to make you look guilty, well, you’ll have to pay for it. The police officer might have to write an apology letter to you. He might have to sign you a criminal record.
The police might have to do a background check on you and send you a court summons. They might have to put you in a witness protection deal. They might have to put you in a police lineup and have you put in a lineup of suspects. They might have to give you a polygraph and give you a lie detector test. They might have to fingerprint you. They might have to take away your driver’s license. They might have to put in a restraining order.
